On July 9, 2007, CPTA Executive Director, Pam Perry announced to the staff that Keshia Greene had been chosen as CPTA’s Transportation Management Assistant. Pam stated, “I am very proud of Keshia and know the selection committee made a good choice and I wish her nothing but continued success with CPTA.” Keshia has been employed with CPTA as a Dispatcher since December, 1993 and hoped that an opportunity such as this would come her way. When hired in 1993, Keshia was part of a two women team who handled all scheduling appointments for the public and driver’s schedules.
When asked about technology changes in the past 14 years, Keshia stated, “When I first came to CPTA, we had a computer program called CTS which is how we scheduled all the transportation for the four counties. Soon after, we received the RouteMatch Software, which we use today to schedule all transportation and although complicated at first, it has made scheduling a lot easier for all of us in the Dispatch Department.” Other changes Keshia has seen during her tenure have been the increase in drivers and ridership in the four counties. “Because of these increases, another dispatcher was hired to help assist with more calls and more scheduling.”
The Transportation Management Assistant position is a new position added to CPTA for the 2008 Fiscal Year. The hope of the position is to have a Supervisor in the office at all times to handle any transportation problems that may occur. Also, this position will handle all the billing to the local government agencies and any billing adjustments they may have. She will also be required to compile and give the CPTA Operating Report to the Board of Director’s each month.
Keshia is married to Kennith Greene, who is an Administrator for Everett’s Family Care in Aulander. She has two daughters, Katoya, 17, who will be a freshman at UNC-Greensboro in the fall and Katyra, 10, who attends Riverview Elementary School in Murfreesboro. When asked about her new position, Keshia said, “I am very excited about my new position. I hope to make the Dispatch Department more efficient and accessible to the public.”
