The Northeastern Safety Council's 2010 Safety Talk Contest was held on Tuesday, March 16th in Aulander, NC. Choanoke Public Transportation Authority brought home the GOLD and BRONZE this year.
Alisa Bishop, Lead Driver, won 1st place with a talk on "Safety in Public Transportation". Her presentation got the entire room "Cheering" for Safety. Alisa will now go on to represent the Northeast Region in the Statewide contest to be held at the Statewide Safety Conference in Greensboro on Tuesday, May 12, 2010.
Connie Davenport, HeadStart Driver for Hertford County placed 3rd with a presentation of a monologue of the "55" Speed Limit Sign entitled: Who Am I?; that even humorously pointed out the consequences of confusing the Speed Limit and Route Number signs.
